We are a four-year Catholic high school located in Bridgeport, CT and dedicated to serving a diverse, multicultural population. Our relatively small size of 325+ students, and excellent teacher/student ratio means that each student gets the support they need to succeed academically as well as in life.
Kolbe provides students with a 21st century education, teaching the skills, and giving the support needed to succeed.
A typical day consists of four 80 minute classes plus athletics, extracurricular activities, college prep, clubs and councils.
A championship-winning program of athletics including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, bowling, track, and cheerleading.
We empower our students with Catholic values to help foster their development academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Students follow a 4x4 block schedule consisting of four classes per day, each 80 minutes long. There are two semesters per year, which allows students to choose eight courses per year. We have found that this schedule provides a more efficient and effective learning environment, and gives our students time to gain a more in-depth focus and understanding of each academic area in our curriculum.Kolby Cathedral’s faculty possesses credentials from a wide array of colleges and universities, and most have advanced degrees. Our faculty has an average of 13 years of teaching experience in the Catholic school tradition, and many have been teaching here for more than 15 years. The student to teacher rate at Kolby is 13 to 1, which allows students to benefit from individualized attention.
Our teachers, faculty, and administration lead our clubs, activities and athletics to broaden students’ interests, and offer a quality student experience that strengthens them physically and instills the spirit of teamwork.
Our motto is Work Hard and Be Nice! and every member of the school community is expected to follow this advice.
